The design assignment involves the realization of the “Sarandë Bypass Design Study”, as well as a preliminary and detailed design for the construction of a new road segment connecting Qafë Gjashtë with the national road [SH8], Sarandë – Himarë, leaving open the possibility of further development towards connection with the Kardhiq – Delvinë – Sarandë road and the Coastal Road. This road segment aims to:
• Ease the congested traffic in the Sarandë city area;
• Create a convenient infrastructure for vehicle movement in this tourist area;
• Create a modern infrastructure for pedestrian movement and safety;
The planned 3.5 km segment will feature an 800-900m tunnel, along with urban and interurban road sections and necessary intersection designs.
