The project involves the development of a greenfield international airport away 50km from to the existing airport. This encompasses the construction of Runways, Taxiways, an Iconic Terminal, Support Facilities and the incorporation of state-of-the-art technologies to ensure operational efficiency. The new Benghazi Airport project is located in the Tika area, west of the city. The new airport project will feature 12 gates with the potential for expansion, additional facilities, a free zone, and infrastructure for air cargo and transit operations. The project is implemented by the Emirati Terminal Holding Company and the National Development Agency, under the supervision of the parallel government. The scope of work includes the review of detailed design of the Airfield infrastructure (geometrical design of the Runway, Taxiways and Aprons, drainage of the airfield, AGL design, shop drawings and as built drawings).
